The Minister for Culture visits Sorigué’s PLANTA project

Last Monday, the Minister for Culture and Sport, José Guirao, visited PLANTA: the business and art innovation project driven by Sorigué and its Foundation, located in the group’s industrial complex in Balaguer (Lleida province).

The Minister was joined by the Government delegate Teresa Cunillera, the Government sub-delegate in Lleida José Crespín, and Lleida’s mayor Félix Larrosa.
Guirao visited the “Double Bind” exhibition, considered to be the artist Juan Muñoz’ most important work, which can be found in one of the complex’s industrial warehouses. He also had the chance to discover other spaces for art and business activity located on PLANTA’s premises.

José Guirao, an expert in cultural management and Spanish art, has directed prestigious cultural institutions such as the Reina Sofía National Art Centre-Museum and was a member of the Sorigué Foundation’s advisory board.

PLANTA is a project promoted by Sorigué and its Foundation to bring together art, science, architecture, landscape, knowledge and enterprise. Designed for talent exchange and to drive innovation, at PLANTA extractive activities coexist with traditional agricultural processes, centres for research and knowledge-sharing, and unique, site-specific artistic and architectural spaces.

PLANTA first opened to the public in 2017 with the “Double Bind” exhibition; you can book your free guided tour in advance in the ‘Plan Your Visit’ section.
